We're almost at a time. Sorry, if I can just ask you one.
Final roundup question about why membership of the BDA is important and how somebody can sign
up if they do want to.
Yeah, I mean, you know, people come up and say all the time,
you know. Why don't the BDA do this?
Why don't the BDA do that? Um.
As I probably in intimated earlier on, you know, doing a lot of this work costs an awful lot of
money. We have 130 staff, we have a chief executive,
we, we, we have moved to premises, we, we've taken up residence in the Institute of
directors in Par Mall, uh, renting some space in there,
and that looks as though it might be a useful interim home for us.
Um, but effectively, without the support of the profession financially.
A lot of the things that we try to do, we can't do, we would like to do far more,
um, and I, it's not, it's not a, a sort of begging bowl,
uh uh sort of a plea, but I don't think people will know.
Just the amount of work that goes into all the stuff that we do,
until we aren't there.
And I, you know, I do worry that in the future we won't be there.
And if we're not there, um, there are various groups out there that are lobbying for their
own particular cause.
I know the corporates have got a fairly active group at the moment with the ADG.
And they're doing an immense amount of lobbying, but I,
I do believe that we are the proper representative body for the profession in that
we, we, we want the best for the whole of the profession and dental teams.
We, we, we looked at possibly uh extending our membership to the members of other members of
the dental team as well, and I'm sure that will crop up again in the future.
But um, you know, our motto is together we are stronger, and the more people we have,
the stronger we will be. And I, I hope people will listen to this and
think, you know what, I'll have a part of that, if, if I'm not already involved in it,
and come and join, get involved.
And uh make a difference.
